New Stainless Bumpers and Grill Trim

The new stainless steel bumpers and grill trim arrived this week. All from Dennis Carpenter. Very happy with the bumpers. They are polished to a higher gloss than I expected.  I also didn't know how the grill trim was going to be mounted to  the grill.  There are a nice bunch of very simple stainless clips that slide into crimps in the back of each trim piece. A 3/16" threaded stud is welded to the clip and holes will need to be drilled in the grill shell for the clips.
Mounted the back bumper temporarily to get positive measurements for a trailer hitch. Looks good there, and I just ordered a Draw Tite hitch from Amazon. Should be here next week. Now I need to get back out and bump some more metal. Rain is here today but it's still warm out.

  1. That stainless steel will taint something fierce when it gets Phil's deer blood on them. But, I (being Becky) forgot to make him pies and that gave him (being Phil) and his father bad luck on their deer hunt in MN this fall. I (being Becky) feel awful for this oversight and wish there was something that I (being Becky) could do to curtail Phil's empty heart.

Is the trip to Panama a ruse to get cheap Ford Truck parts?

    1. I believe the only way out is to make twice as many pies for Phil's next trip.
No Ford parts in Panama. They have all rusted away.

  2. Hi, thought I would check to see how the F1 is coming along. Look in good. It was gpa's bay last week & I needed to see the ol truck. I'm glad grandpa's truck is in the hands of someone that is giving it a new life.
    Keep up the great work

    1. Thanks Steph. Nice to see your still following the blog. Hope to get the sheet metal painted this next year. I think it's going to be Mercedes Iridium Silver.
Your still going to get your ride when it's all done. Taking longer than I thought.

    1. Thanks for your interest Chris. No, the truck is not for sale. When it's done, I will be driving it for a long time.
